Apple to Launch iPhone SE 2 Plus with Touch ID Power Button in 2021

Apple is likely to renew its budget iPhone SE lineup. The company is expected to launch a new affordable iPhone SE 2 next year. Now a new report by Ming-Kuo claims that Apple will bring back TouchID on 2021 iPhone SE 2 Plus, a feature that was replaced by Face ID.

Apple is also expected to launch iPhone SE2 Plus in 2021. Apparently, the iPhone SE2 Plus will feature a full-screen device but instead of FaceID, it is expected to come with TouchID baked into the power button. Furthermore, in 2021, Apple will add iPhone SE2 Plus with a display size of 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch to its lineup. On the other hand, the top-end 2021 iPhone model will come without a lightning connector.

Apple will launch the ‌iPhone‌ SE2 Plus in 1H21. We predict that the display size will be 5.5 or 6.1-inch. This model will adopt a full-screen design. The notch area will be smaller because of no Face ID support. The ‌Touch ID‌ will be integrated with the power button, which is located on the side.

Earlier reports have hinted that Apple will sell 20 million ‘iPhone SE 2’ in 2020. Apple’s low-cost iPhone SE is being missed ever since it was discontinued. Meanwhile, the device is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020 and the expectations seem to be very optimistic in nature.

As per the report, iPhone SE 2 is likely to arrive with a 4.7-inch display, a single rear camera and a Touch ID sensor. On the other hand, it will be powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic chipset which is also powering the latest iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. However, the iPhone SE 2 will use 10-layer Substrate-like PCB to mount the motherboard. The component will be less expensive than the one used on iPhone 11 Pro.

Do you think the iPhone SE deserves a second chance or is Apple making its iPhone a tad too complicated for your liking? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
