A Mechanic Has Created An Extraordinary Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Replica

It’s been a few years since the unveiling of the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept and, while it hasn’t reached the production line like some might have expected, it has prompted a particularly ambitious mechanic in Asia to craft a full-size replica of the one-off Bugatti.

Whereas the body of the concept was made primarily from carbon fiber, the exterior of this replica has predominantly been made from pieces of sheet metal that have been expertly welded together. Making the replica all the more impressive is the fact that it has been crafted solely by hand and with some relatively basic power tools.

The craftsman, who runs the Mechanic Jack’s team page on Facebook, spent four months working on the car. He started out by building a tubular chassis and then fitted an engine and transmission directly behind the cabin, although no info about them is provided.

Nevertheless, the videos below detail much of the construction process. One of the clips is particularly interesting as it showcases just how complex the rear wing of the Vision Gran Turismo Concept is, and making a replica of it out of metal certainly isn’t something many people would be able to do. When it’s all said and done, the wing looks just as good as the real thing, although we’re pretty sure it must also be quite heavy.

Other clips show the replica’s in-board front and rear suspension, as well as how the car’s aggressive front fascia, which comes with working headlights and daytime running lights just like the real thing, was created. Finally, when the bodywork was completed, the car was painted by hand in the same shade of two-tone blue as the Vision Gran Turismo.
