If you live in the U.S. and have a budget of $100,000 to spend on a car, they are some very compelling options out there. However, which of them has the best engine and exhaust notes?
We’re living in an age where large capacity and high-revving engines are slowing dying out in favor of hybrids and EVs. Additionally, noise regulations mean many cars still rocking powerful internal combustion engines are being muted but despite all of this, there are some spectacular soundtracks still out there.
So, with a budget of $100,000, what do you think is the best-sounding car currently available?

To us, it is hard to go past some of the soundtracks produced by some extraordinary homegrown V8 engines. For example, the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 sounds exceptional, as does the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, both of which are available for five figures. The Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models also sound very mean.

If you’re not a big fan of the thumping growl produced by most American V8s, then the 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 of the 2023 Corvette Z06 could be right up your alley and while it has yet to hit the market, it should start at less than $100,000. Similarly, the 5.0-liter V8 of the Lexus LC500 has one of the most pristine exhaust notes of any current production car. We’re also big fans of how the 4.0-liter flat-six driving the Porsche Cayman GT4 sounds (although admittedly it starts at $101,200).
