TL;DR
Update, February 10, 2022 (6 AM ET): OnePlus has now issued an official announcement of the OnePlus Nord CE 2’s launch details. The device will debut on February 17 at 2:30 PM CET (8.30 AM ET). The use of an EU timezone also suggests the phone will indeed launch in Europe too.
The company also shared a better look of the phone’s rear, including the sizeable top-left rear camera array. Have a look at the image above. It also confirmed several features inspired by the Nord 2, including 65W charging, microSD card support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Original article, February 10, 2022 (12:36 AM ET): OnePlus will announce a new phone next week. No, it’s not the OnePlus 10 Pro going global. It’s the long-rumored OnePlus Nord CE 2.
The company just posted a teaser for a February 17 launch of the phone. The short clip also gives us a glimpse of the device. Take a look below.
It doesn’t seem like OnePlus is ready to take the Nord CE 2 to all markets just yet. We only found the teaser posted on OnePlus’ Indian social media handles and website. The company may announce wider availability for the phone at a later date.
Leaked specs of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 suggest that the phone will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC. It’s also said to gain a 6.4-inch 90Hz OLED panel, 6GB to 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging. As you can see, the device will get a decent charging upgrade over the previous model which featured only 30W charging.
Elsewhere, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is tipped to gain a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. A 16MP sensor is expected to handle video calls and selfies.
If you’re expecting an alert slider on this model, you’d be disappointed. However, you should get a 3.5mm headphone jack as compensation for the missing feature.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Nord CE 2 should launch in the ballpark of Rs 24,000 to Rs 28,000 (~$317 to ~$370).
