TL;DR
- Samsung admits there will be heavy delays for Samsung Galaxy S22 shipments.
- The company says it is facing an “all-time high” for interest in the phones.
- If you haven’t pre-ordered, your best bet on launch day might be to visit a brick-and-mortar store.
However, it looks like not everyone will be so lucky. According to a statement Samsung gave to PCMag, there could be heavy delays for at least some Samsung Galaxy S22 shipments. It’s possible that even folks who pre-ordered the phones days ago might not see delivery on or before February 25.
Here’s Samsung’s full statement on the matter:
We’re grateful for the excitement and response to our new Galaxy S22 series. Interest in Galaxy S22 series is at an all-time high with the pre-order volume exceeding our expectations. We’re committed to getting these devices to our customers as early as possible. However, some customers may experience delays depending on market, model and color. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding.
Delayed Samsung Galaxy S22 shipments
A quick perusal of Samsung.com’s product page for the Galaxy S22 series shows estimated delivery times of March 4 for the vanilla and Plus models. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra looks to be delayed until March 15. This applies to the unlocked models in the standard colorways. The colorways exclusive to Samsung.com feature even longer wait times.
Third-party retailers — such as Amazon and Best Buy — are still accepting pre-orders but don’t give any indication as to when shipments could happen.
As it stands, it looks like your best chance for skipping these delays of Samsung Galaxy S22 shipments is to shop at a carrier store or visit a brick-and-mortar retailer on February 25. Of course, if you’ve already made your pre-order you’re just going to need to sit back and hope you get yours in time.
