Ever since Alfa Romeo‘s return to the U.S. market, many fans of the brand have been yearning for a Giulia coupe to complement the sedan. Now, an independent designer has imagined one up, and we could honestly see it being sold today.
The design was created by Maxim Shershnev, and while he doesn’t work for Alfa Romeo, he does have design experience with companies like Volkswagen, Audi, Renault, and Marussia.

His goal was to take Alfa’s design language from the Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV and create a revival of the Giulia coupe as a proper GT car for their lineup. We can certainly see influences of those cars in things like the headlights, taillights, grille, and wheels, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, things like the flat hood, rounded roof, and overall shape are quite reminiscent of the Giulia coupes of old.

There are also other features, like the B-pillar cut line, bumper fascia, and side detailing, that are all-new, but manage to work very nicely with the design language Shershnev has created. A personal favorite of ours is the central exhaust pipe on the lower part of the rear bumper, which if we didn’t know any better, looks to be an interpretation of the automaker’s signature triangular grille.
There have been rumors that Alfa could be readying a new GTV coupe, likely with at least some form of electrification, and if it looked anything like this concept, we’d be happy.
