Apple’s March 8 ‘Peek Performance’ Event Page Packs an AR Easter Egg

Apple Event Peek Performance

Earlier today, Apple announced that it would hold its first consumer-facing event of the year on March 8. Interestingly, the page for this “Peek performance” event on Apple’s website has an AR logo you could play around with while you wait for the occasion with bated breath.

The company’s updated event webpage seems like any ordinary one until you open it on an iPhone or iPad. You will be greeted by an Augmented Reality (AR) version of the Apple logo created for the event. This easter egg overlays the logo on a feed from your primary rear camera so you can move around it, closer to it, and farther away from it.

The AR easter egg shows a tunnel-like Apple logo with several progressively smaller Apple logos nestled inside it, albeit in hues of yellow, orange, blue lavender, red, and pink. The AR view delivers a complete experience to drum up hype for the event. It has accompanying music and a radiating effect for the colors around the logo.

If you want to try this AR easter egg out yourself, just tap on the Apple logo on the webpage. An AR viewer will automatically open so you can see the animation in the backdrop of your surroundings. You can even switch to Object mode and view the beautiful logo in all its glory. You could also check out a placeholder video that the company has uploaded to YouTube.

You can set a reminder to watch the event on YouTube or download a calendar reminder from Apple’s event page. That said, we expect the company to unveil the new iPhone SE 3 with 5G and a faster processor alongside a refreshed iPad Air and possibly a new base model MacBook Pro with the rumored M2 chip.
