Wild Toyota GR Yaris Packs 500 HP And Has Nissan GT-R Brakes

As standard, the Toyota GR Yaris pumps out 257 hp in European specification or 268 hp in markets including Japan and Australia. This is a lot of power from a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder but as it turns out, the engine can handle much more than that.

This particular GR Yaris has been comprehensively modified by a company dubbed Severn Valley Motosport and has undergone a plethora of significant mechanical modifications. These upgrades start in the engine bay where there is a new hybrid turbocharger that helps the car deliver roughly 450 hp on pump fuel and 500 hp on race fuel.

A number of other bolt-on modifications have been made to the engine, including the fitment of a carbon fiber air intake. The British tuner has also fitted a new exhaust system with 100-cell catalytic converters to ensure the soundtrack matches how well this thing rockets down the road.

Severn Valley Motorsport didn’t call it a day after working on the engine and has also fitted a set of aftermarket coilovers. What’s even more impressive is that it is sporting aftermarket carbon-ceramic brake calipers and discs originally designed for the Nissan GT-R. The front calipers measure an insane 400 mm (15.7-inches) and only just fit within the OZ Racing wheels. In addition, a set of leather Recaro CS Sportster seats replaced the factory buckets.

YouTuber Hampshirephoto had the opportunity to check out the car in person and go for a passenger ride in it. While the clip was filmed in damp conditions, the GR Yaris has no trouble putting its power to the ground, despite being fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
