Did Bugatti And Rimac Just Tease Two New Models?

Bugatti Rimac has released an intriguing image that could hint at a pair of new hypercars from the company – one for each brand.

This photo was released as Bugatti Rimac celebrated its decision to open a new engineering and design center in Berlin, Germany. The announcement confirmed that Bugatti Rimac design director Achim Anscheidt and chief technology officer Emilio Scervo will work hand-in-hand to “develop the next generation of Bugatti and Rimac hypercars.”

To the left of the photo in question with Anscheidt and Scervo in the foreground is a Rimac Nevera while to the right is a fleet of Bugatti models, including the Bolide, the La Voiture Noire, Centodieci, Divo, Chiron, the 16C Galibier concept, and a Veyron Super Sport. The image also shows a car hidden by a Rimac-branded cover and a second car with a Bugatti cover.

It is hard to decipher specific details about the duo but the car under the Rimac cover does appear to be similar in shape to the Nevera. As for the Bugatti, we can see it has a large horseshoe front grille and large air intakes similar in shape to those of the La Voiture Noire.

One possibility is that the Bugatti pictured is its next-generation hypercar. Details about this vehicle are limited but it has apparently been in the works for the past 18 months and will likely serve as a successor to the Chiron. Mate Rimac has previously confirmed that the car will use an innovative combustion engine and be “heavily electrified.”

Rimac is in the midst of a rapid expansion and in late 2021, started construction of a new global headquarters just outside the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The Rimac Campus is located on a 200,000 square meter site and will feature an on-site test track, a museum, and design, engineering, production, and testing facilities.
