Go Buy This Super-Rare 750HP Lingenfelter Pontiac GTO Before I Sell A Kidney

Most hardcore automotive enthusiasts know about the sleep that is the last Pontiac GTO. What many don’t know is that before it left the production line, the folks over at Lingenfelter got their hands on it and did what they do best, add power. Now one that’s been modified even further is up for sale and ready for you to terrorize the neighborhood with.

This is such an extreme car that we’re a bit worried that it’ll just end up collecting dust in a wealthy person’s collection. That’s in part because it’s incredibly rare. Lingenfelter offered all sorts of parts and off-the-shelf performance packages for the GTO back when it was new but this is a lot crazier. In fact, it might be one of one.

According to paperwork photographed by the seller, this isn’t like the normal packages that boosted power by 100 ponies or a little more. No, this one seems to have first been boosted to 725-horsepower thanks to a pair of Garrett GT30 ball-bearing turbochargers. It seems it ended up above that number though.

It’s called the Tomahawk and all of the Lingenfelter branded accouterment specifically says “Series #0001”. It also mentions a horsepower number of 750. If true it would be just about double what the original car made. That car, by the way, is one of the most balanced modern muscle cars to ever be sold on the side of the pond.

Now it’s even more extreme since the previous owner swapped out the turbos for a supercharger. We won’t argue about which is better but the seller says that it eliminates turbo lag which would be objectively accurate. The 7.0-liter engine is full of forged internals to handle the power and an upgraded Rossler heavy-duty automatic sends power to the rear wheels only.

Used car prices are absolutely bananas right now and that makes this GTO which is listed for $59,990 look like a killer deal to me. If you buy it, let us know so we can come review it. We’ve reached out to Lingenfelter for more information about the creation of this beast and any additional specs they can provide. We’ll update this post if we learn more.
