2023 BMW 3-Series Facelift Teased One Last Time Before Imminent Debut

BMW has published a teaser video of the facelifted 3-Series on social media, showing the revised front end ahead of the model’s imminent debut.

The short video reveals the redesigned LED headlights which have already made their appearance on the Chinese-spec BMW i3 eDrive35L. We have also seen a few photos of the Chinese-spec facelifted BMW 3-Series coming from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, although we can’t be sure if the US- and EU-spec models will inherit the exact same design traits. Furthermore, the Chinese model has only appeared with the M Sport Package bumpers, thus we are eagerly waiting to see what BMW has in mind for the base-spec 3er.

Besides the headlights, changes over the current 3-Series are expected on the grille, air intakes, and rear bumper, alongside new wheel designs and a wider color palette. The Touring bodystyle will live on as a practical alternative to the traditional four-door sedan. Finally, BMW will also, once again, offer optional M Performance parts for those who wish to bring the 3-Series closer to the M3 in terms of styling, while there will also be an Alpina B3 spec.

Inside, the model will inherit a new digital cockpit with a curved panel and the latest Operating System 8 that has already found its way into several new BMW offerings including the new 7-Series flagship. The equipment could also get more sophisticated ADAS systems since buyers of the segment are pretty demanding when it comes to technology.

The engine range of the 3-Series will likely include slightly updated gasoline and diesel powertrains, alongside mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Unlike the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which has gone four-cylinder only, the facelifted BMW 3-Series will keep the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six for the sporty M340i variants. We will learn everything about the updated model on its imminent debut.
