Toyota is bringing a fleet of road cars and its Dakar-winning GR DKR Hilux T1+ to next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Fresh off its win at Dakar in January, the GR DKR Hilux T1+ will be driven in both the Forest Stage and the Hillclimb and be piloted by two-time Dakar champions Nasser Al-Attiyah and co-driver Mathieu Baumel.
Among the production cars that Toyota is bringing to the event is the new GR 86. The sports car made its Goodwood debut at last year’s event and its presence this year coincides with its UK market launch. Joining the GR 86 at the event will be the new GR Supra 3.0 with the available six-speed manual transmission. This will be the public dynamic debut of the long-awaited model.

Completing Toyota’s ‘Power of Three’ GR line-up at the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the GR Yaris. Toyota won’t just bring along a road-going model but also a modified variant competing in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Iberian Cup centered around gravel and asphalt rally stages.
Attendees at Goodwood will also have the chance to see the all-electric Toyota bZ4X up close. While it might not be quite as exciting for enthusiasts as the three GR models, it is arguably more important for the future of the Japanese automaker.
A number of keys members of the Toyota Gazoo Racing team will also be attending the UK’s best car event. These include Kazuki Nakajima, the vice chairman of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe who just so happened to win the World Endurance Championship title with Fernando Alonso and Sebastien Buemi in 2018 and is also a three-time winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours. New Zealand racer driver Brendon Hartley will also take a break from racing the No8 GR010 Hybrid Hypercar and be at the event too.
