Genesis today announced that it is an official manufacturer partner of the Gran Turismo World Series, the game’s online global motorsport championship. That means that entrants in Gran Turismo 7’s Manufacturer’s Cup will be able to race Genesis vehicles.
Those competing in the series will be able to race the Genesis X GR3 and the Genesis G70 GR4, two virtual race cars designed specifically for the series. Players will also have the opportunity to drive the slightly less extreme, but more realistic G70 sedan in the game.
“Genesis is pleased to be presenting the dynamic G70 sport sedan and our ambitious GR3 and GR4 concepts in Gran Turismo 7,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Genesis Global Design Center. “This platform allows fans of racing to get behind the wheel and discover the bold designs and performance ambitions of Genesis as we continue to explore the brand’s entry into motorsport.”

Although they were available from launch, the vehicles mark the first time not only that Genesis products have been made available to Gran Turismo players, but the first time that they have been playable on any digital entertainment platform.
Genesis first unveiled the designs of its race cars for the Gran Turismo series at an experiential installation called The Performance of Design during Monterey Car Week in August 2021. There, it showed its design intent with the G70 GR4 Gran Turismo, a California-built race car.
Gran Turismo 7 is the latest installation in the long-loved Gran Turismo sim racing franchise. The game was released in March 2022 and can be played on the Playstation 4 and 5.
