Some Of The Rarest Japanese Halo Cars Going To Auction At UK’s CCA Summer Sale

It’s hard to get a good deal on a used car right now but perhaps an investment would be a better buy. At the 2022 CCA Summer Sale a number of very special Japanese sports cars will go over the auction block and they’re special enough that we’d buy every one of them if we had the cash. Here’s a rundown of what to expect on June 18th.

The Warwickshire Event Center will host the event where these eight cars will play a starring role. The oldest of the lot is a 1984 R30 Nissan Skyline GT-Turbo with a classic two-tone paint job finished with its original graphics package.

A newer R34 Nissan Skyline GT-T is also up for grabs and while it isn’t the famed GT-R that easily goes for six figures in the States, it does come in Speckled Silver which looks fantastic. Still, we’re nowhere near the end of this list.

Two different Toyota Supras are available, each of the A80 generation and each in twin-turbo trim. Both also feature a factory hood scoop which is a unique and interesting mod rarely seen stateside. A third Supra Turbo, this time from 1990, rounds out the trio with just 36,000 miles on the clock. All three are in nearly original condition, which is special on its own.

The auction includes three other cars. A 1990 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 has just 27,000 miles on it since new. Then there’s a gorgeous Subaru that might be my favorite of the show. As one of the newest cars in the group, this 1998 Impreza GT Turbo 555 AWD is incredibly rare, has 97,000 miles, and is the perfect color of World Rally Blue. Meanwhile a Mazda RX-7 is perhaps the least desirable, though still rare, one of the bunch. It’s going to need reconditioning due to some serious aging but it’s offered at no reserve so a deal could be had.
