Peugeot Puts The Stunning 408 In A Moving Sphere Display Near Paris

We’re sure most would agree that the 2023 Peugeot 408 is one of the most eye-catching new vehicles recently launched so to show it to the world, the French car manufacturer has done something a little different.

An eye-catching 408 finished in a shade of teal is currently on display at the Louvre-Lens museum, located approximately 200 km (124 miles) north of Paris. However, the 408 isn’t simply on display for museum-goers to touch and walk around, nor has it been showcased behind a red velvet rope like you may expect. Instead, it is located in a transparent sphere that spins and shows every angle of the car.

“We really liked the idea of this ephemeral work of art, which is original and beautiful to look at, and which perfectly accentuates our new arrival,” Peugeot chief executive Linda Jackson said. “The new Peugeot 408’s original style has been praised by many people who have already discovered it. It has been presented in a very original way, in the magnificent and modern setting of the Louvre Lens.”

The project was brought to life by engineers and technicians from the Parisian creative studio Superbien with the help of the OPEn agency.

“Peugeot moves and innovates in all areas,” Peugeot marketing and communication director Phil York said in a statement. “The transparent Sphere, designed for the new Peugeot 408, shows the allure of our new model from all sides. This creation is perfectly in line with Peugeot’s global expression of its new brand identity.”

The Peugeot 408 slots between the 308 hatch and 508 sedan in terms of size and will rival the likes of the Renault Arkana and Citroen C5 X. It is underpinned by the French marque’s EMP platform and while it shares parts with the C5 X, it has a design unlike any other car on the market, including others from the Peugeot family.
