A presenter and competitor on Street Outlaws: Fastest In America has been killed while filming a race for the Discovery show near Las Vegas.
Ryan Fellows was racing a gold Nissan 240Z against another car for a segment on the show on Sunday morning when he lost control close to the finish line, TMZ reports.
The modified Nissan rolled over and caught fire, and unfortunately, bystanders didn’t manage to save him from the wreck, which appeared to have come to rest on its roof, judging by an image acquired by TMZ. No explanation has yet been given for the cause of the accident.
The Street Outlaws franchise started with Street Outlaws: Memphis in 2013, before expanding to include other shows, including No Prep Kings and the Fastest in America series 41-year-old Fellows was filming for at the time of his fatal crash. Fastest in America is in its third season and is centered around eight teams of racers who compete with one another for a $100,000 prize.

“The ‘Street Outlaws’ family is heartbroken by the accident that led to the tragic death of Ryan Fellows,” a spokesman for the show said via its official Twitter account. “We extend our deepest sympathy to Ryan’s loved ones as they process this sudden and devastating loss.”
Fellows leaves behind a wife and two kids who will be the beneficiaries of a GoFundMe campaign set up in aftermath of the accident. “Ryan was an avid car enthusiast and was a road ‘warrior’ in many ways that extended to loves of basketball, cars and business in sales/advertising,” the description reads. “He was admired for tenacity and a relentless drive to overcome the challenges before him.”
