Vintage Air Rolls Out New System For GM’s G-Body Platforms

If you own a 1982-1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass or a 1986-1987 Buick Grand National and Regal, you may be pleased to know an upgrade air conditioning system is now available for your car.

Vintage Air has just launched its new Gen IV SureFit Kit air conditioning system for the aforementioned models that builds on the company’s expertise in developing modern-day air conditioning systems for classics, hot rods, and street rods.

The new Gen IV system is Vintage Air’s most powerful and intelligent climate-control system and uses a fully-electronic microprocessor control system that eliminates cables or vacuum connections. It then features high-capacity copper parallel-flow heat coils and aluminum plate-and-fin cooling coils to ensure maximum efficiency. Adjustments for the air blends, blower fan speed, and dehumidifier settings are housed within controls that closely mimic those of the original air condition systems of the Cutlass, Grand National, and Regal.

Vintage Air offers its Gen IV SureFit Kit as either a complete kit or an evaporator kit for installations that do not require under-hood components. Both options are available for models regardless of whether or not they had air conditioning from the factory.

The company has not yet announced pricing details for the kit but notes that they include all necessary parts for installation and are backed by Vintage Air’s standard warranty. Both the complete kit and evaporator kit have been designed to install with minimal modifications to the original firewall.
