Gran Turismo 7 Update Adds Nissan Sylvia S14, Porsche And VW Concepts

Gran Turismo announced the details of free update 1.23 today, and players will be able to drive three new exciting cars. They are the 2019 Volkswagen ID.R, the 1994 Nissan Silvia K’s Type S, and the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyder.

You may remember the Volkswagen ID.R electric prototype from its record-breaking run up the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, or its blistering lap of the Nürburgring Nordschelife. Either way, you should know that it’s very quick.

Powered by an electric powertrain that delivers 670 hp (500 kW/680 PS) and 881 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, the purpose-built time trialist tips the scales at less than 2,425 lbs (1,100 kg). That allows it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.25 seconds.

The Nissan S14 Silvia, meanwhile, was introduced to the Japanese market in 1994 and quickly became a favorite among enthusiasts. Sold as the second-generation 240SX in North America, it was powered by a range of inline-four engines globally. The car will be purchasable in-game via the “Legend Cars” menu from September 29 onward.

Finally, the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyder is a futuristic follow-up to the Vision GT that was unveiled in 2021. Although no official specs have been revealed for the Spyder, the coupe made 1,274 hp (950 kW/1,292 PS) from an all-electric powertrain.

In addition to the new cars, Gran Turismo has also added one Menu Book and two Extra Menu Books to the “Café” section of the game. These will offer challenges relating to “the Silvia Sisters,” Corvettes, and mid-engine Porsches.

A selection of new events have been added to the “World Circuits” game mode, and new locations (California II and Tokyo II) have been added to the Scapes mode. These allow photos of cars to be staged against new backgrounds.

Finally, a slew of updates has been made to fix bugs within the game and steering support has been added for the Logitech G RPO Racing Wheel.
