2024 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Lineup Spied Inside And Out With Small Updates

Work continues on the facelifted Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 as spy photographers have caught the crossover and crossover coupe undergoing testing in Austria.

Set to receive a relatively minor refreshening, the models have been equipped with a sportier front bumper that features more expressive intakes and cleaner lines. We can also get a glimpse of updated headlights and what appears to be a lightly revised grille.

The small updates continue out back as the only change appears to be new taillight graphics. As you can see, they now have prominent horizontal lines as well as relocated reverse lights.

Inside, there’s a new flat-bottom steering wheel that echoes those found in newer models such as the SL. It features a three-spoke design with gloss black accents and touch control buttons. Everything else appears to carryover, but the crossovers could be equipped with an updated infotainment system and improved driver assistance systems.

Under the hood, there could be a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine developing 429 hp (320 kW / 435 PS) and 384 lb-ft (521 Nm) of torque. It comes paired with an EQ Boost system, which features an electric motor that can deliver an additional 21 hp (16 kW / 21 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque for short periods of time. This setup enables the crossovers to run from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.2 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
