A stunning edition of the Chiron finished in green-tinted bare carbon fiber has left Bugatti’s Molsheim factory. The 400th Chiron ever made, the car signifies that the automaker is 80 percent of the way through production of the W16-powered hypercar.
When it was introduced in 2016, Bugatti said that it would make just 500 Chirons. In January, meanwhile, it announced that it had finally sold the very last example of the hypercar and its derivatives.
This example is a Chiron Super Sport and was built by 20 craftspeople who were tasked with assembling the roughly 1,800 separate components that make up this exotic car. Each crafts person must pay special attention to detail to create this uber-expensive hypercar.

“Every single part of the Chiron is a masterpiece of engineering, and bringing it all together requires the most dedicated and experienced specialists in the world,” said Christophe Piochon, the president of Bugatti. “Our painting or finishing process is so detailed that to achieve the desired effect requires up to eight layers in the top coat alone, each one polished to a perfect, deep and lustrous mirror finish.”
The green body work is paired to “Fierce” green highlights around the grille, on the wheel centers, and elsewhere. Super Sport Magnesium wheels are fitted to the car, and an engine cover finished in “Nocturne” rounds out the look.
The green and black theme is continued inside, where the leather upholstery is finished in green and “Beluga Black.” The bare carbon, meanwhile, continues on the steering wheel. A Sky View roof means that the interior is filled with natural light.
Like other Chiron Super Sports, it is powered by an 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine that makes 1578 hp (1,176 kW/1,600 PS). The engine’s redline is at 7,100 rpm, but the maximum torque of 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) is offered between 2,000 and 7,000 rpm.
Bugatti will now start the production of the final 100 Chirons. It says that the model won’t mark the end of the W16, though. That will instead be rounded out by the W16 Mistral and the track-only Bolide.
