Certain 2022 Lamborghini Urus Models In The U.S. And Canada Need A New Infotainment System

Lamborghini has announced a recall of 2022 Urus models in the United States and Canada due to a potentially faulty infotainment system and rearview camera.

A hardware issue in the infotainment system means that during shutdown, an error in one of the voltage regulators may lead to damage to various components within the control unit. This causes a loss of all functions, including the screen display, the next time the vehicle is started. The rearview camera is also inoperable.

The recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notes that the issue means the SUV does not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, ‘Rear Visibility.’

A total of 48 Lamborghini Urus models in the United States are involved in the recall, all of which were manufactured between September 16, 2021 and September 23, 2021.

In July 2022, the Volkswagen Group told Lamborghini that a certain number of infotainment units manufactured in 2021 may have been produced by the supplier with too high input voltage. The Italian car manufacturer quickly discovered that a batch of faulty infotainment units were delivered to it and installed in vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.

Dealers will be notified of the recall on December 9, 2022 while customers will be informed on or around December 16, 2022 through registered mail and the Lamborghini app. All affected vehicles will receive a new infotainment system at no cost to owners.
