Hennessey announced today that it has partnered with France’s Skeleton Concept to create a special chronograph specifically for owners of the Venom F5 hypercar. As you might expect from the tuner, the watch is a modified version of an existing timepiece and features some exceptional additions.
Based on a Rolex 4130 Caliber, Skeleton Concept has modified the bezel to be made out of carbon fiber, echoing the construction of the Venom F5. It is also engraved with a high-contrast tachymetric scale that allows the wearer to measure average speeds of up to 400 km/h (249 mph). Oddly, although that’s quite quick, the car the watch celebrates can reach a claimed top speed of 483 km/h (300 mph).
Regardless, the watch also has a completely clear sapphire crystal case that enables owners to see the internal mechanism from multiple angles. Like the car, the case is a remarkable piece of engineering.

Sapphire crystal starts as aluminum oxide, which is heated to more than 1,700 °C (3,092 °F). The molten material is then carefully cooled into a crystalline block and mounted on a five-axis lathe. There, it is machined for 24 hours a day for more than 30 days in order to create a perfectly clear case. The piece is finally finished when it is associated with the new owner’s Venom F5. To do that, the sapphire crystal is inscribed with the chassis number of the owner’s car, which encircles the phrase “The American Dream Never Sleeps.”
To the side of the watch, precision screw down pushers have been engineered to deliver satisfying feedback, mirroring the steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles in the Venom F5.
“Hennessey has enhanced the engineering of high-performance vehicles for more than 30 years, a process that led ultimately to the creation of our $3M hypercar – the Hennessey Venom F5,” said Alex Roys, the company’s COO. “The car pushes the boundary of possibility through advanced engineering, a parallel we’ve brought to the watch that heroes engineering with its unique and beautiful sapphire case.”
The car the watch is based on, the Hennessey Venom F5, is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that makes 1,817 hp (1,355 kW/1,842 PS) and 1,192 lb-ft (1,616 Nm) of torque. Priced at $3 million, the watch that celebrates it has a similarly lofty price of $200,000.
