The Audi E-Tron GT and various Porsche Taycan models will be repaired free of charge

A number of Audi E-Tron GT and Porsche Taycan models have been recalled in the United States due to an issue with one of the suspension struts.
It’s been revealed that a manufacturing deviation at a sub-supplier means a notch at the top part of the air suspension strut may not have been manufactured according to specification. This could cause the fitted retaining ring of the air suspension strut to become loose, resulting in the air within the pneumatic spring being released. This will lead to a loss of ride comfort and drop the ride height on the affected strut, also impacting the handling characteristics and increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall impacts a total of 96 Audi E-Tron GT models that were built between September 1, 2021 and September 15, 2021 for the 2022 model year. In addition, it comprises Porsche Taycan models built between July 27, 2021 and October 25, 2021, Taycan 4S built between July 27, 2021 and October 25, 2021, Taycan Turbo S built between July 28, 2021 and November 12, 2021, Taycan 4 Cross Turismo models manufactured from July 29, 2021 to August 27, 2021 and Taycan 4S Cross Turismo models made from July 30, 2021 to October 11, 2021. A total of 28 Porsche Taycan models are involved in the recall.
Owners of impacted Audi and Porsche models will be notified of the recall on or before February 10, 2023.
Audi and Porsche dealerships will inspect the suspension strut of recalled models and replace it at no cost to customers if necessary. Neither of the automakers will need to offer reimbursements to those who have already had the problem fixed as the issue is covered under the new car warranty.
