The Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition announced in May 2021 is the swan song and ultimate variant of the current generation E-Class, with a limited production of 999 units. Now the automaker announced the allocation for Japan, which only gets 50 units of the Final Edition.

Interestingly, the 50 units of the E63 S Final Edition will be equally divided into 25 left-hand-drive and 25 right-hand-drive models. Japan is a right-hand-drive country, so we guess that this option is for Japanese owners who prioritize the collectability status of the performance sedan and do not intend to use it as a daily driver. The press release doesn’t specify if the special edition will be available in both sedan and estate form but chances are it is a sedan-only offering.

Japan Will Get 50 Units Of The Mercedes-AMG E63 S Final Edition

The E63 S Final Edition is exclusively available with the pictured matte graphite grey Magno exterior, combined with sporty graphics and a special AMG badge on the C-pillar. It also comes standard with the AMG Night Package, which adds high-gloss black accents, and rides on 20-inch AMG forged alloy wheels. Interior treats include plenty of carbon fiber, Nappa leather upholstery with contrasting yellow piping and stitching on the AMG Performance Seats, and a numbered plate.

Just like any other E63 S of this generation, the Final Edition is powered by the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 603 hp (450 kW / 612 PS) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels thanks to the fully variable rear-biased 4Matic+. Mind you, the next generation of the E63 will be fitted with a plug-in hybrid powertrain so this is your last chance to get a taste of the biturbo V8 in a four-door sedan.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition is priced at ¥24,470,000 million ($183,955) in Japan. Mercedes has already accepted pre-orders for the special edition of the E63, and deliveries are starting today.
