The Ford GT has had a remarkable seven-year run, picking up wins in sports car racing and in the courtroom (mostly against John Cena). And now that its final iteration (the track-only GT MK IV) has been released, its legacy can be celebrated with a new, massive, Lego Technic set.
The Danish toy brand revealed that it will sell a 1,466-piece set starting in March that can be assembled into a 1:12 scale model of Ford’s V6-powered, mid-engine supercar. With a variety of moving parts and realistic details, Lego says that this set is the perfect way to get under the skin of the Ford GT.
As a result of the large number of bricks, the kit is intended for adults. For their effort, though, builders will be treated to a model that is 3.5-inches (9 cm) tall, 15-inches (39 cm) long, and seven-inches (18 cm) wide.

The size and the large number of parts also mean that the Ford GT is recreated in remarkable detail. Along with front wheels that can be turned, the model also has independent suspension at all-four corners, a V6 engine whose pistons actually turn a crank, which is, in turn, connected to the rear wheels via a working differential.
In addition, the doors open, the rear wing is adjustable, and the hood opens to allow you to admire the model’s intricate details, and all of your hard work. The latest set in the Lego Technic automotive range, it joins the likes of the Ferrari 488 GTE, the BMW M 1000 RR, and McLaren’s Formula 1 racecar.

The Ford GT is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is rated at 660 hp (492 kW/669 PS). For the unrestricted, limited edition Ford GT MK IV, the swan song for the model, the automaker is expected to pump the power all the way up to 800 hp (588 kW/811 PS).
That track-only model will cost buyers $1.7 million, so the Lego Ford GT may be a better toy for buyers on a budget. Going on sale on March 1, it will retail for $119.99.
