The BMW M4 ‘Maloo’ was unveiled at last year’s SEMA Show and took just six weeks to build

This is the BMW M4 Maloo and while it has been so expertly built that you may think it’s a project from BMW itself, it actually isn’t.
The intriguing M4 Maloo was unveiled at the 2022 SEMA Show and brought to life by DinMann. It started out as a regular M4 Competition but the entire rear section of the car has been replaced by a bed built over a custom metal frame. YouTuber Cars with Miles recently had the opportunity to check it out.
Viewed from the front, you could be excused for thinking this is a standard M4 Competition. Sure, it has a fancy metallic wrap, tinted headlights, and some aftermarket carbon fiber parts, but the front half looks relatively normal. Curiously, part of the rear bench seat remains in place but it is completely useless.
When driving the car out on the open road, the reviewer says that it feels pretty much the same to drive as a regular M4 Competition but admittedly, he doesn’t seem to have had the chance to really push it to the limits to see if it behaves differently than it did before the conversion.
No changes have been made to the car’s powertrain. As such, it continues to rock a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder pumping out 503 hp and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. This power is sent through all four wheels thanks to an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMWs xDrive all-wheel drive system.
