BMW is launching the updated 3-Series Gran Limousine in India, the model’s long-wheelbase version. The updated sedan gets the same redesigned face and the upgraded dashboard, while retaining the same powertrains.

BMW introduced a mid-lifecycle update for the seventh-generation 3-Series in May 2022, and unsurprisingly the same treatment is being adopted by the long-wheelbase “Gran Limousine” variant. Note that the Chinese-spec long-wheelbase 3-Series had already been updated alongside the standard-wheelbase model.

Just like in the aforementioned models, styling changes are focused on the front end. The Gran Limousine gets the slimmer LED headlights, the slightly reworked grille (not illuminated like in the pre-facelift Iconic Edition), and the sportier bumper that is part of the M Sport package. The latter is the only option in the Indian-spec model, unlike its predecessor which was also available in Luxury Line guise.

The profile remains unchanged with the 110 mm (4.3 inches) longer wheelbase, complimented by the standard 18-inch alloy wheels with five double spokes. The rear end has a sportier stance thanks to the body-colored bumper intakes and diffuser, housing dual exhaust pipes.

Moving inside, the highlight is the new digital cockpit known as BMW Curved Display. It comprises a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen housed in the same curved panel and running on the iDrive 8 OS. Other updates include the new transmission switch that replaces the traditional gear selector and the slightly restyled climate vents. Equipment includes premium features like the M Leather steering wheel, the light-colored leather upholstery for the seats, the panorama sunroof, the 16-speaker 464 Watt Harman Kardon sound system, and tri-zone climate control.

The BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine debuted in the Indian market exactly two years ago so it is no surprise that there are no updates in the engine lineup. The 330Li comes fitted with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 258 hp (192 kW / 262 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), while the 320Ld is fitted with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel rated at 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). Both come standard with the eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission sending power to the rear axle.

The 2023 BMW 3-Series Gran Limousine is available to order in India and is priced from ₹5,790,000 ($70,866). This represents a minor increase of ₹20,000 ($245) compared to the M Sport trim of its predecessor.
