The Porsche 911 is getting a minor facelift and it’s expected to debut later this year

It’s hard to believe the current Porsche 911 was introduced more than four years ago, but that’s clear when you take a look at this facelifted 911 Cabrio.
Spied wearing minimal disguise, the prototype looks immediately familiar despite having a host of subtle changes. Among the most noticeable are a new front bumper and revised air intakes. The latter feature horizontal bars, which are mounted in front of vertical slats that form the basis of the new active shutter system.
The changes don’t end there as we can see new headlights and relocated indicators. While those updates are barely noticeable, the ‘butt lift’ is more obvious as there’s an all-new rear bumper and a dual exhaust system with tips mounted closer together. This necessitated moving the license plate recess above the exhaust, instead of between the tips like on the current model.
Besides the new bumper, the rear features lightly revised taillights. They eschew the current sandwich design and feature a cleaner upper bar that appears to float.
Previous pictures have shown the updates will continue in the cabin as the facelifted model will have a fully digital instrument cluster. We can also expect some other minor changes as well as possible updates to the infotainment system.

Porsche has been tight-lipped about the facelifted model, but it’s expected to debut later this year as the 911 is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2023. As a result, we should learn full details in the coming months, but in the meantime, we’ll remind you the current model comes standard with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine developing 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS) and 331 lb-ft (448 Nm) of torque. Of course, there are many, many more options and we can expect additional choices in the future including a new hybrid powertrain.
