The new Nissan Z is slowly but surely making its way to owners across North America. For one person in Canada, that glorious delivery day will have to remain one of the high notes in their ownership as their new blue sports car suffered extensive damage when it was crashed by someone other than the owner only a few days later. The owner tells us what happened.

Less than a week ago, the owner posted a number of photos of the car in brand-new condition. According to posts there, this is the first Z in Atlantic Canada. One picture shows just 16 km (9.9 miles) on the odometer. Other posts feature the car driving on Canadian roads and the presence of snow on the ground is a foreboding sign.

A more recent post from just three days ago shows the result of what the owner called “Cold weather with traction control off, someone [sic] never own a car more 120hp and drove a 400hp car.” Referring to the person who wrecked the car he said “I had a feeling he would crash it, he didn’t let me down.”

At the same time, the biggest takeaway is a positive attitude from the owner who posted the post-accident pictures with kind words. “Thanks for everyone who’s messaged and called. I wasn’t in the car and the person who was driving wasn’t hurt in the crash, that’s all that matters. Cars are always replaceable and accidents happen.”

What’s in the plans for the future of this blue Z car? Well, the owner tells Carscoops that he’s going to fix it since replacing it with a new one wouldn’t be very easy. He also says that he’s waiting on his new GR Corolla to show up.

We presume that he won’t let someone he doesn’t trust drive that one. Even if he does, at least the little hot hatchback has a little less power and a fantastic all-wheel drive system to handle it.
