Cadillac Global Vice President Rory Harvey has revealed the brand will introduce three new electric vehicles this year.

Speaking with the media this morning, Harvey said the new electric vehicles should go into production next year, although timing may vary by market.  At least one of the EVs will be built in multiple locations and this suggests production could occur in China as well as North America.

Cadillac is keeping additional details under wraps as officials declined to say if the upcoming models would be sedans or crossovers.  That being said, spy photographers snapped an entry-level crossover last year and it’s slated to slot beneath the Lyriq.

Little is known about the model at this point, but the crossover sports a fully enclosed grille and a Lyriq-like design.  Despite the similarities, the model is significantly smaller and has a shorter hood as well as a more rakish windscreen.  The entry-level crossover also sports a pronounced shoulder line as well as what appears to be a tamer rear end.

The model is expected to be built on the BEV3 platform that underpins the Lyriq as well as the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Equinox EV.  The latter could give us an idea about what to expect size-wise, although nothing is official at this point.

What about the other two electric models?

The other two EVs are more mysterious, but Cadillac’s electric roadmap calls for a full-size SUV, multiple crossovers, and “low roof entries.”  These are expected to include an electric Escalade and a seven-seat crossover – among other things.

Speaking of EVs, Cadillac told us the Celestiq is slated to go into production late this year and Lyriq production is ramping up.  Harvey said he’s “happy” about the progress they are making with the latter and noted approximately 1,000 units have shipped within the last 30 days.  Furthermore, all Lyriq Debut Edition orders should be fulfilled by the end of the first quarter.
