Ford already offers the crossover-style Active trim for its mininvans, but owners of the Tourneo Connect that want to take it a step further can visit Delta4x4. The tuning package combines a lift kit by Seikel, a new set of wheels, and other off-road goodies.

Starting with the exterior, the modified Ford Tourneo Connect rides on black beadlock-style 17-inch klassik-B rims, shod in beefy 235/55R17 Grabber AT3 tires. The Active trim of the minivan already came with plastic cladding on the bumpers and wheel arches from the factory. However, as is the case with most adventurous-looking proposals, the skid plates are mainly decorative. Thus, Delta4x4 added a metal bull bar for protection, with extra PIAA LEDs for improved visibility at night.

Ford Tourneo Connect Becomes More Adventure-Ready Thanks To Delta4x4

The Ford Tourneo Connect is based on the VW Caddy, meaning that the chassis modifications proposed by German off-road specialist Seikel are compatible with both models. The suspension is upgraded with Koni FSD shock absorbers at the front and spacers at the back, increasing ground clearance by 20 mm (0.8 inches). The higher stance is combined with a metal protective plate for the engine bay and transmission, offering more confidence when driving off the beaten track.

While the aforementioned tweaks are compatible with all trims of the Tourneo Connect – and presumably with the Transit Connect LCV twin – it makes more sense to apply them in an AWD example. The only engine/gearbox combination available with an electronic AWD system is the 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder producing 120 hp (90 kW / 122 PS) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft), mated to a six-speed manual.

If you are wondering about the cost of the modifications, you’ll need €952 ($1,021) for the tires, €1,974.33 ($2,116) for the wheels, €592 ($635) for the bull bar, €1,142.40 ($1,225) for the underbody protection, €1,130 ($1,211) for the suspension upgrades, and something extra for the additional LEDs.
