Ultra-limited-edition cars like the Koenigsegg Regera are often sold out to manufacturer-chosen individuals before they’re even shown to the public. Their seven-figure prices have something to do with that but have you ever wondered how much the open market would pay for such a rare hypercar? We’re about to find out as one of the 80 is up for auction to whoever has the cash.

This 2021 Regera is one of the later ones in the build cycle that lasted from 2016 through 2022. It features a 5.0-liter quad-cam V8, a trio of electric motors, and a direct-drive transmission.

This particular Regera powertrain develops some 1,757 hp (1,310 kW) on E85 according to the listing. In terms of outright performance, a Regera set a record by going from 0-400 km/h (248 mph) and back to 0 in just 31.49 seconds. This one, with just 615 miles on the odometer has the right ingredients to repeat that feat.

That includes the Ghost package with its front and rear dive planes and side skirt winglets. Koenigsegg says that those additions improve downforce by 20 percent. The automaker’s unique Triplex suspension sits under the rear decklid and just behind the engine.

It’s all housed inside of a carbon fiber body painted in Candy Liquid Blue with clear-coated exposed carbon fiber and gold-leaf accents. The wheels are Koenigsegg’s own Tresex Aircore design and they too are carbon fiber. Sure, that looks blingy but it reduces unsprung weight and improves handling and feedback too.

The listing also features the original window sticker which shows an original MSRP of $3,277,636. As of this writing, it’s already been bid up to $2,600,000 and there’s well-over a week for others to get their millions in order. Could it break BringATrailer’s current record of $5,360,000 on a 161-mile Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta? Only time will tell.
