The Cayenne is getting a facelift and its interior has been completely re-imagined

The Taycan ushered Porsche into the future and now the Cayenne is following in its footsteps. While we’ll have to wait a few more years to see the Cayenne EV, the company has revealed the interior of the facelifted crossover ahead of its debut on April 18th.
The changes are immediately apparent as the 2024 Cayenne adopts an all-new 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster. It features up to seven different displays ranging from minimalist gauges to an available night vision view.
In the middle is a 12.3-inch infotainment system, which features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as Apple Music and Spotify integration. The system also sports a new in-car video function, which allows occupants to watch videos from Screenhits TV when the vehicle is parked. Porsche went on to mention “new ways” to interact such as using Siri to operate vehicle functions.

The most noticeable change is the addition of an optional 10.9-inch passenger display. The screen is integrated into the dashboard in front of the passenger and allows them to operate the navigation system, so they can be a co-driver of sorts.
However, the display is primarily focused on entertainment and front seat passengers can use it to watch streaming videos. To prevent driver distraction, a “unique screen filter” prevents them from seeing what the passenger is watching.

Putting the screens aside, the 2024 Cayenne adopts an all-new “Porsche Driver Experience.” While it’s more high-tech than before, there are still a number of analog controls and they’re positioned within easy reach of the driver. A new engine start/stop button resides left of the steering wheel, while a minimalist shifter can be found on the right side.
The gear selector used to be mounted on the center console and its relocation freed designers to reimagine the space. It now houses minimalist climate controls, which blend analog and digital elements with a “sophisticated black panel design.” There are also touch ‘buttons,’ a physical volume controller, and additional storage.
Getting back to the steering wheel, it’s borrowed from the 911 and has a more purposeful design. It sports a dedicated mode selector, which offers easy access to Normal, Off-Road, Sport and Sport Plus settings. Drivers will also find a redesigned lever that controls the driver assistance systems.
The changes don’t stop there as the entire dashboard is new and sports air vents that lack louvers. We can also get a glimpse of updated door panels and a classier stopwatch.
Last but not least, the Cayenne offers faster recharging. However, we’re not talking about plug-in hybrid variants as the crossover sports a new 15 watt wireless smartphone charger. It enables modern phones to recharge quickly and Porsche was able to increase the wattage thanks to the use of a “cooled smartphone storage area.”
The upgrades don’t end there as the Cayenne boasts two new USB-C ports in the front storage compartment as well as two more on the back of the center console. All of them offer a fast charge function, which should help to reduce the amount of time you have to stay plugged in.
