Perfect Your Air Fryer Wings with the Super Bowl LIX Recipe

The Super Bowl may be over, but you don’t need to put away your chicken wings, celery, carrots and other party snacks. If you ask me, buffalo wings are a meal that you deserve to enjoy at least once a week. So treat yourself with this fabulous recipe that stays fresh, no matter what occasion you use it for. If you’re a lover of chicken wings like me, then here’s my best-kept secret: I use the air fryer to make these delicious finger foods for any big event. Because if you’re planning a big party, go big or go home.

Chicken wings are my favorite meal to make in the air fryer. Why? They’re simple to cook, don’t take too much time, and no matter what spices you use, they always taste delicious. They’re also easy to clean up since the prep and cooking process requires minimal dishes.

Of course, there’s a process to making the perfect air fryer chicken wings. For one thing, don’t overcrowd your air fryer. If you have more than you know what to do with, cookl them in batches. While you can get all those wings done in record time, it’s better to get the wings spaced out evenly, even if it takes longer. Secondly, don’t layer your chicken wings on top of one another unless you want unevenly cooked chicken, a real turn-off for anyone looking to snack while at a party.

For guaranteed cooking perfection, place the wings in a single layer in your air fryer. Double-check that none are sticking together so they don’t cook unevenly. Be aware that your wings will shrink while cooking, but don’t let that lead you into false complacency by adding more wings; just trust the process. Keep in mind that you can make any flavor of wings in the air fryer, so don’t be afraid to experiment. But my go-to is these simple buffalo chicken wings.

Step 4: While the wings are cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan, then add in Frank’s RedHot Hot Sauce (or a hot sauce of your choosing) and simmer on low heat for three to four minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6: Toss the wings until they’re fully coated and serve hot with dipping sauce and carrots and celery.

If you don’t have an air fryer, don’t worry. An oven is more than suitable for cooking chicken wings to perfection, though you may find you’ll need to check on the wings more often to ensure they aren’t drying out and are crisping up to the consistency you like.
