‘Heretic’: When to Watch the Hugh Grant Horror Movie on Max

A24’s Heretic gives Hugh Grant a deliciously sinister role to relish in. The psychological horror film from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (the duo who co-created and co-wrote A Quiet Place) puts a terrifying spotlight on religion and the concept of faith.

Heretic follows two missionaries who go door-to-door spreading the word of God. They make the poor decision to knock on Mr. Reed’s (Grant) door and soon find themselves stuck in a twisted house of horrors, pawns in a dreadful game of cat-and-mouse.

Starring opposite Grant are Yellowjackets alum Sophie Thatcher, who plays Sister Barnes, and Chloe East (The Fabelmans), who plays Sister Paxton.
