Bugatti customers have begun configuring their Tourbillons, so the company has revealed a new Équipe Pur Sang package. French for “thoroughbred team,” the kit is billed as a visual testament to performance and the company’s motorsport history.

That’s clear from one look as the EPS package adds a unique front splitter as well as a bespoke rear wing that has small endplates, which help to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

However, the most noticeable change is an eight-pipe exhaust system which looks like a row of cannons protruding from a ship. The round tips replace the four trapezoidal shapes found on the regular model.

Rounding out the highlights are special 20- and 21-inch wheels that help to reduce turbulence, while also increasing airflow to the rear radiator by up to 8%. The package also adds a revised diffuser, which further enhances aerodynamic efficiency as well as provides additional downforce.

The changes continue inside as there’s Alcantara upholstery as well as performance seats that provide enhanced lateral support during high-G cornering. The latter are also notable for featuring “Équipe Pur Sang” embroidery on the headrests. Buyers will also find Black Poli trim as well as the Medium Carbon Fiber Interior Package.

Like the standard model, the Tourbillon EPS has a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 engine, three electric motors, and a 25 kWh battery pack. This gives the car a combined output of 1,775 hp (1,324 kW / 1,800 PS) and an electric-only range in excess of 37 miles (60 km).

Creating A Tourbillon

While many people simply buy a car off the lot, the Tourbillon is a purpose-built machine that reflects each owner. As such, customers travel to the Château Saint Jean in Molsheim or their nearest Bugatti retailer to embark on the commissioning process.

Once there, they can select from 23 new exterior colors, 20 new leather options, 10 new Alcantara choices, and seven new carpets. Even the instrument cluster offers multiple configurations as it’s crafted by Swiss watchmakers.

That’s to be expected when production is limited to 250 units and pricing starts at €3.8 ($4.1 / £3.2) million.
