The mysterious concept will debut later this year and could hint at the next evolution of GMC design

Concepts used to be a big part of auto shows, but both have fallen by the wayside. However, some automakers continue churning them out and General Motors is a key proponent. Besides last week’s Corvette concept, the company showed the Cadillac Sollei and Opulent Velocity concepts in 2024. Now, it’s time for GMC to show a mysterious new vehicle.

Jointly created by design teams in the United States and the United Kingdom, the concept appears to be a futuristic pod or SUV. The teaser images aren’t very revealing, but we can see a fully enclosed front fascia that is flanked by headlights and turn signals that are spread across four strips per side.

The linear design is echoed out back on the taillights, which appear to float in midair. We can also see squared off wheel arches with a contrasting black design. The model also sports two coordinates – 52°16’17”N 1°32’21”W and 42°30’36”N 83°02’22”W – that represent the location of the design studios in Royal Leamington Spa and Warren, Michigan.

The futuristic design continues inside as we can see an octagonal interior with a glass roof and what appears to be a sliding door. They’re joined by two individual seats, which are separated by a large console. Elsewhere, there’s metallic flooring and stylish lighting.

Little else is known about the concept, but it presumably hints at the future of GMC design. The company has been distancing themselves from Chevrolet in recent years and has developed a unique interior design language that can be seen in newer models such as the Acadia, Terrain, Yukon, and Sierra EV.
