The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is hailed by many as one of the finest creations to ever come out of the brand’s stables. It’s loud, it’s thrilling, and it’s powered by a naturally aspirated engine. Plus, unlike most Lambos, you won’t have to wince every time you approach a speed bump.

But despite all its raw performance and rugged appeal, it seems to be struggling to hold its value, especially when you see one with fewer than 300 miles on the clock going for (so much) less than expected. It’s even more surprising when you compare it to the way Porsche’s similar 911 Dakar is actually appreciating in value. Who would’ve thought that in the battle of the off-road supercars, the Lambo might be the one losing the race to depreciation?

Take this 2024 model, for instance. It’s got Verde Turbine paint, black and green interior upholstery, and 19-inch wheels. Like all Sterratos, it’s powered by a 5.2-liter V10 that churns out 602 horsepower (448 kW) and 413 lb-ft (559 Nm) of torque. All that power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Being a Sterrato, it also comes with a 1.7-inch lift kit, all-terrain tires, and a roof-mounted induction scoop to feed the engine some clean, fresh air. While all of these cars feature the signature hood-mounted light pods at the front, not every one sports the cool Sterrato-branded roof rack this particular model has. Despite the impressive equipment and off-road capability, this one still sold for a whopping $35,372 less than its MSRP.

Lamborghini pegged its value at $343,372 when new. But despite having just 251 miles or 403 km on the odometer, bidders over at Bring A Trailer were only willing to drop $308,000 on it. That’s a massive discount on a car that’s practically brand new. To put it in painful perspective, that’s 10% off MSRP or, if you prefer, this car lost $140.92 in value for every single mile it’s been driven since it left the factory. Ouch.

The Italian supercar maker only made 1,499 of these, and yet, they’re struggling to maintain their value for whatever reason. Earlier this month, a white one without the roof rack sold for $15,272 less than MSRP, and it had just 55 miles on the clock. That’s a tough sale, but still nowhere near the depreciation hit that this green example took. Either way, it appears that the Sterrato might be a steal in the supercar market at the moment.
