Jeep is almost ready to introduce the new generation of the Compass in Europe, but photos of the SUV have leaked online ahead of its imminent debut. The new model adopts a boxier stance compared to its predecessor, and jumps into a new Stellantis platform offering a choice among hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains.

The photos, which seem to have originated from Brazilian website Quatrorodas, show the Compass in different configurations. The lime green example is most likely the fully electric version, as evident from the “e” emblem on the tailgate. On the other hand, the white model with the black accents and the different skid plate on the front bumper could be the rugged Trailhawk trim.

The leak also includes a single photo of the interior, revealing a new infotainment display above a single row of buttons and a rotary knob. We can also see aluminum-style accents and various storage compartments on the center console and the dashboard. This must be a high-spec grade, as it has a double sunroof, a head-up display, and leather upholstery with contrasting stitching.

The new Compass has a sculpted body with toned fenders and modern styling cues such as the sharp LEDs and the ultra-slim intakes on the front bumper. The generous plastic cladding and the boxy wheel arches give it a proper SUV stance. This is accentuated by the front and rear overhangs which are shorter compared to the outgoing model – made possible by the new underpinnings.

One of the highlights of the new Jeep Compass is the STLA Medium architecture. This is shared with other Stellantis SUVs such as the Peugeot 3008/5008, the Opel Grandland, and the new Citroen C5 Aircross. For the sake of differentiation and besides the different chassis setup, the Jeep Compass might get more off-road goodies compared to its siblings, at least in high-spec trims such as the Trailhawk.

More importantly, Jeep has promised an “expanded engine range with e-Hybrid, e-Hybrid plug-in, and fully electric options” for the new Compass, although non-electrified gasoline powertrains could be offered in markets outside Europe.

It is safe to assume that at least some of the powertrain options will offer AWD capabilities, staying true to the legacy of the brand. Judging from the mechanically-related Peugeot e-3008, the electric Jeep Compass could produce up to 321 hp (239 kW / 325 PS) from dual electric motors, with battery capacities of 73 kWh and 97 kWh.

Stellantis has confirmed that the new Jeep Compass will enter production in Italy later in 2025. North American cars were originally slated to be built in Canada starting 2026, but the uncertainty around US tariffs on imported vehicles has reportedly pushed back the local launch of the model.
