New wheels and a lowered stance make this rare Maybach S680 Virgil Abloh stand out from the rest

Three years ago, Mercedes unveiled a limited-run version of the Maybach S680 named after fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Capped at just 150 examples worldwide, this very special Maybach is peak German luxury, and one example has just been made more striking thanks to a prominent US tuner.

This S680 has been overhauled by Road Show International, who, fortunately, have not tweaked the model’s special two-tone paint scheme. What they did change is the rolling stock, fitting a massive set of 22-inch aftermarket wheels that match the tan lower bodywork. Subtle, it is not.

The new wheels are paired with updated suspension components that lower the ride height by 20 mm, or about 0.7 inches. It also sports an illuminated Maybach logo on the trunk lid and ceramic window tints for good measure. Road Show has dubbed this particular S680 the “RS Edition.”

Out of the 150 S680 Virgil Abloh editions produced, only 39 are believed to have landed in the US. The owner of this one remains a mystery, but the car looks nearly untouched – it even still has an airbag sticker clinging to the transmission tunnel. Every example came with a distinctive two-tone exterior and a tan leather interior, staying true to the edition’s signature design.

Other standout details include a dedicated plaque on the center console and Abloh’s brand logos embossed on the headrest cushions. A custom matching luggage set was also part of the package, because naturally, a suitcase should match your $200,000-plus car.

Mercedes first partnered with Abloh in 2021 for the special Project Maybach. It was an intriguing two-door concept designed with serious off-road prowess, but retaining the luxury and high-end materials you’d expect from a Maybach. Unfortunately, just a single unit was produced.
