• Pirelli launches new road and track tires for the Porsche 911 GT3.

• It also makes custom rubber for Porsche models like the GT3 RS.

If you own a Porsche 911 GT3 and are shopping for a new street or track tire, Pirelli may have just delivered an early holiday gift. The company has rolled out two specially developed versions of its P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS, each tailored for the latest GT3.

Both are engineered to elevate the performance envelope of what remains one of Porsche’s most focused, driver-centric models.

Things kick off with the P Zero R, which is a performance-focused tire for the road. Pirelli has developed a new compound specifically for the 911 GT3 and says it now provides excellent grip on all kinds of different surfaces and in different conditions, including in the wet.

The P Zero R has a wide working temperature range and interestingly, the structure is slightly difference between the front and rear wheels. This has allowed Pirelli to deliver exceptional steering precision through the front tires while adding more control to the rears.

Then there’s the new P Zero Trofeo RS. This tire has been designed to offer the ultimate in track performance. Pirelli was tasked with developing bespoke P Zero Trofeo RS tires for the 911 GT3 RS, and has used the lessons learned from that model in developing new rubber for the regular GT3.

As with all Porsche-specific Pirelli tires, these carry the N designation, confirming their bespoke nature. No pricing details have been released yet, but given the brand and the segment, cost savings aren’t likely to be a headline.

Pirelli does mention that it leaned heavily on virtualization tools during development, which cut both time and prototype usage by around 30 percent. Whether that efficiency will be reflected in the final sticker price is another matter entirely
