If you’re using a PC that’s stuck on Windows 10, you might want to consider upgrading to a new machine: Microsoft officially stopped supporting the 10-year-old operating system in 2025. Still, even if you can’t upgrade to Windows 11 anytime soon, you should take advantage of the Extended Security Updates program.
To give its users more time to upgrade their software and hardware to Windows 11, Microsoft has promised to continue supporting Windows 10 with one more year of security updates. Anyone with Windows 10 can enroll in the Extended Security Updates program and continue receiving updates through Oct. 13.
