The plug-in hybrid Huracan Spyder successor has been spied on the Nürburgring and could debut late this year

• Lamborghini Temerario Spyder has been spied for the first time.
• The roadster is expected to debut late this year or early in 2027.
• Supercar will have a hybridized powertrain developing 907 hp.

Lamborghini introduced the Temerario in the summer of 2024, but the company just started delivering cars in January. It’s already a success as the Italian brand has previously said they have approximately twelve months worth of orders.

With the model now trickling into the hands of owners, Lamborghini is preparing to expand the lineup. While we’ve already seen the Temerario GT3 and the Temerario Super Trofeo concept, the latest version will be street-legal.

It’s the Temerario Spyder, which will serve as a replacement for the popular Huracán Spyder. A prototype was recently spied undergoing testing on and around the Nürburgring and it will undoubtedly get fans excited.

The prototype follows in the footsteps of the coupe and can easily be mistaken for the fixed roof variant upon first glance. However, a closer inspection reveals a number of subtle changes.

The retractable top eschews the double bubble design seen on the coupe, while the roadster appears to adopt a significantly smaller rear window. They’re joined by revised buttresses that are connected by a new support at the front. We can also see restyled engine vents and some other small changes.

Camouflage hides a number of details, but the roof will likely operate like its predecessor. If that’s the case, a touch of a button will raise the rear deck lid and allow the roof to be deployed or retracted in just 17 seconds.

The familiar styling should continue inside, where we can expect a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch infotainment system, and a 9.1-inch front passenger display. However, there could be minor changes including roadster-specific switchgear.

One thing that won’t change is the car’s plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, three electric motors, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 3.8 kWh battery pack. This setup gives the coupe a combined output of 907 hp (677 kW / 920 PS) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. That enables the car to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds, before topping out at 213 mph (343 km/h).
