Ineos has combined parts from two of the Grenadier’s most popular trim levels into a new version known as the Trailmaster X, looking to give customers the most rugged and capable version of the off-roader but without compromising on luxury.

Offered in both the Grenadier SUV and the Quartermaster pickup truck, the Trailmaster X comes outfitted with front and rear locking differentials and sits on 17-inch wheels clad in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires. In addition, it has a snorkel, safari windows, privacy glass, and a lockable storage box integrated into the spare-wheel carrier.

The special features don’t end there. For example, Ineos has added a 5.5-tonne front winch and fitted a tow ball as standard. The Trailmaster X can also be configured with a petrol fuel filter and a diesel water separator for markets with poor fuel quality. It can also be spruced up with a contrasting roof in either Inky Black or Scottish White.

The rest of the model’s bodywork can be painted in either Scottish White, Devil Red, Donny Grey, or Magic Mushroom, which sounds particularly enticing. Distinctive Trailmaster X badging also marks out the new edition.

Plush And Rugged

In the cabin, customers will find two-tone grey-and-black leather upholstery, heated front seats, a premium sound system, and carpeted floor mats.

“Three years on from launch, we continue to evolve the Grenadier line-up, broadening its appeal in response to customer feedback,” Ineos Automotive chief executive Lynn Calder said. “Building on the significant enhancements introduced for 2026, Trialmaster X is the pinnacle all-rounder. The ultimate combination of off-road toughness, premium day-to-day comfort, and intrepid spirit.”

In the UK, prices for the Trailmaster X will start at £75,195 ($101,800) for the SUV and £75,010 ($101,500) for the Quartermaster pickup. That puts the Trailmaster X roughly £12,000 above a base Defender 110, which starts at £62,915, while still undercutting the £84,240 Defender 130. Ineos has yet to announce plans to launch the same trim in other markets.
