Most people got over the cancellation of the 2020 Geneva Motor Show but it seems Volkswagen was really proud of its stand and premieres – so much so that it has recreated them in virtual reality.
Welcome to the Virtual Motor Show, the VW brand stand of the 2020 Geneva Motor Show that never was. Starting today, you can visit it from the comfort of your home or your office by clicking this link. Like a real auto show from before the novel coronavirus outbreak, it will only be available to visit for a limited time, in this case until April 17.
The 360-degree tour offers an interactive digital experience, allowing visitors to stroll across the booth, view cars from all sides and even change colors and wheel rim configurations. Users can either take part in a guided toor of the booth or wander through the stand as they desire.
“I am pleased that our marketing team has succeeded in making our booth available to all visitors despite the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show,” says Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Volkswagen brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales.
“Virtually, they can experience our team’s attention to detail in the presentation of this show and our product highlights. Once again, this demonstrates that special situations call for special solutions,” the executive added. Stackmann also said that Volkswagen will be able to reach even more people in the future through virtual show visits in addition to “the real presentation of vehicles.”
To make the Virtual Motor Show possible, all the vehicles and the booth planned for Geneva have been digitally processed for the 360 degree and three-dimensional experience.
The cars you can check out at the show include the VW ID.3, the all-new Golf GTI, GTD and GTE, the rest of the Golf Mk8 family, the Touareg R plug-in hybrid, T-Roc R, T-Roc Cabriolet, and more. There’s also the new Caddy compact van and a concept vehicle you can take a good look at, the ID. Space Vizzion. We’ll now leave you to it, just don’t get put off by the lack of booth babes – or people, for that matter.
