After many years of development, the Robosen team pulled off the covers to reveal the world’s first-ever consumer robot with an expansive set of unique functions including, according to the company, “automatic convertible movement from vehicle to robot, bipedal walking ability in robot form and a race function in vehicle form”. This new and improved leader of the Autobots is voice-enabled and can be connected to your smartphone where you can program hundreds of unique actions to bring the 19-inch tall Transformer back to life. It even features speech from original Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen, with new dialogue recorded for the robot.

The Transformers Optimus Prime Auto Converting Programmable Advanced Robot Collector’s Edition (now that’s a mouthful) is reported to be diligently crafted with the highest grade of metal alloy parts and aims to blend cutting-edge technology with classic design to produce countless hours of exciting usability. Included in the price is a custom battle axe and blaster, as well as a charging cable, instruction manual, and travel case, along with a built-in 2000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

Robosen Robotics aims to provide a one-of-a-kind experience by giving millions of Transformers fans around the world an opportunity to interact with their favorite characters. This special edition robot is now available for pre-order at Hasbro Pulse, retailing for a rather steep $699.
