Disney Plus has a slew of new titles in its Marvel and Star Wars franchises. Netflix has major new adaptations like The Sandman and Avatar: The Last Airbender, along with returning fan-favorites like The Umbrella Academy. And the list goes on.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Amazon Prime Video

After two decades since the release of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, get ready to return to Middle Earth in Amazon Prime Video’s new series exploring events long before Bilbo Baggins found the one ring to rule them all. Amazon is investing hard in fantasy, with 2021’s The Wheel of Time already establishing the streamer as a major player in the genre. The Lord of the Rings: The RIngs of Power should be a major conversation starter when it lands in late 2022.

Amazon Prime Video offers access to thousands of movies and TV shows to stream. That includes great original shows and movies like The Boys and The Tomorrow War. You can also sign up for other premium services within Amazon Prime Video.
Disney Plus
Andor is the latest Star Wars series at Disney Plus. It focuses on the early days of the Rebellion, with Cassian Andor, first introduced in Rogue One, finding his role in the fight against the Empire. Diego Luna stars as Andor, with fellow cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, is creator and showrunner.

The streaming service is the home of all Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars movies. It’s also got a bunch of exciting originals like The Mandalorian, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and more.
2022 is giving us not one but two miniseries about Candy Montgomery, a Texas housewife who brutally murdered her best friend in 1980. Following Candy on Hulu in May, HBO Max will launch its own take on the true-crime drama, with Elizabeth Olsen as Montgomery. The series is written by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter.

HBO Max is your home for Warner Bros-made movies and TV shows like The Lord of the Rings, the DC Comics superheroes, and more. It’s also the home for new and original movies and shows available nowhere else.
The Predator franchise continues with this new Hulu original prequel. In it, Naru, a warrior from the Comanche Nation in 1719, uses her considerable skills to protect her people when a murderous alien arrives to hunt them for sport.

Hulu offers not only thousands of movies and TV shows to stream, it also has original shows and films like The Handmaid’s Tale. You can upgrade to Hulu Plus Live TV to get live channels, including your local stations.
Killers of the Flower Moon
Apple TV Plus

Martin Scorsese seems to be making a long-term move to streaming following his acclaimed 2019 crima drama The Irishman on Netflix. His latest feature is based on David Grann’s non-fiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. In it, the FBI launches an investigation when members of the Osage tribe in northeastern Oklahoma are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s after oil is discovered on tribal land. Word is we can expect this one in November, but Apple hasn’t confirmed a release date yet.

Apple TV Plus has quickly become a major player in the streaming game since its launch in 2019. Its slate of original programming includes shows like Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Foundation, and For All Mankind as well as movies like The Banker, Greyhound, and Palmer.
