A new trailer is out for Netflix‘s The Playlist, a fictional drama series about Spotify. The six-episode series, which hits the streaming service on Oct. 13, deals with “the Swedish start-up that shook the entire music industry and evolved into becoming one of the world’s leading music services,” according to Netflix.
Here’s the minute-long trailer, which incorporates Flo Rida’s song Good Feeling. Snippets of voices express disapproval, calling something impossible and saying music can’t be free.
Swedish actor Edvin Endre plays young tech entrepreneur Daniel Ek, now known as Spotify’s super-rich co-founder and CEO. The series also stars Ulf Stenberg as Per Sundin, Gizem Erdogan as Petra Hansson, Joel Lützow as Andreas Ehn, Christian Hillborg as Martin Lorentzon and Janice Kamya Kavander as Bobbie T.
The Playlist is the latest true story of startups and founders to be adapted into a drama series after WeCrashed retold the drama at WeWork, Super Pumped went behind the scenes at Uber and The Dropout won an Emmy for Amanda Seyfried’s performance at jailed Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. After those lurid antics, international music licensing negotiations doesn’t seem so sensational — but then again, did you have any idea about the Facebook drama before The Social Network came out? The series is inspired by the book Spotify Untold by Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud, which recounts real-life beef between the fledgling Spotify and vocal opponents including Steve Jobs and Taylor Swift.
