Best iPad Deals: Save $99 on Latest iPad Air and Mini – CNET

With so many iPads currently in Apple’s tablet quiver, there’s certainly a model that will fit your needs and budget. iPads come in a variety of sizes and a wide range of prices. If you’re looking for a large screen and serious hardware, you may want to grab the newest, 10th-gen iPad or an M2 iPad Pro. Meanwhile, people who want something more compact and lightweight can snag the iPad Air, or even an iPad Mini, which is now a few years old but is currently selling for the lowest price we’ve seen yet.

The iPad Mini received a complete overhaul last year. The new design has rounded edges, thin bezels and no home button. The power button on the side now has Touch ID, and the Lightning port has been replaced by a USB-C charging port. This sixth-gen Mini runs on the A15 Bionic chip (same as the iPhone 13) and serves up an improved and slightly larger 8.3-inch display and better cameras than the older, fifth-gen Mini. You can save $30 on the 64GB model and $50 on the 256GB model. Earlier this summer, the baseline model was $99 off, so this one might be one worth monitoring for a larger price break to return.

The 10.9-inch iPad Air, released last year, has a fast M1 chip, an auto-zooming Center Stage front camera and, except for its display, it feels nearly like an iPad Pro. It’s our favorite midrange iPad model if the Pro seems too expensive. You can save $40 on the baseline 64GB model right now at Amazon and up to $29 on the higher-capacity 256GB model.

The newest iPad Pro looks like the last iPad Pro. Its processor bump and a new Pencil feature, plus networking speed improvements, are what’s new.

Apple’s latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also at an all-time low price right now. This super-large-screened iPad has an upgraded M2 processor and is unique for its Mini-LED display, which looks even more vivid and has more OLED-like black levels. The 2022 iPad Pro also supports a new “hover” feature that recognizes the Pencil when it’s in close proximity to the screen — a feature that’s not used much yet, but art apps might start adopting. You can save $50 on it at Amazon, which is half the discount we saw last month.

The 11-inch M2 iPad Pro can often be found at a $50 discount, but the best we see right now for it is $30 off at Amazon. Price breaks are similarly slight for the higher-capacity models.
