PlayStation Plus Deals: Get Access to Sony’s Subscription Offering for Less – CNET

The PlayStation 5 first hit shelves more than three years ago, and while it isn’t the hot ticket it once was, it’s still the go-to console for plenty of people. If you’re the proud owner of Sony’s next-gen gaming system, you’ll want to pair it with a PlayStation Plus subscription, which gives you access to online play, as well as a massive library of games at a fraction of the price.

Deals on PS Plus subscriptions have been hard to come by since the service was redesigned last year, with Sony only offering direct discounts during major events like the Days of Play sale. It didn’t help when Sony increased the annual pricing in September, either.

Below, we’ve broken down how the new PS Plus subscriptions work, as well as the best ways to get signed up for less. We’ll continue to update this page as more deals and discounts come around, so be sure to check back often. And for even more savings, you can take a look at our roundup of the best bargains on PlayStation games, gear and accessories

Sony

Right now finding a deal on PlayStation Plus is essentially impossible, with Sony seemingly having sewn things up pretty tight. An Essential membership is typically $80 for the year, which is already a reasonable discount on the monthly plan pricing. But at CD Keys, you can sometimes get an annual subscription for $77, which drops the monthly cost to just over $6. You won’t get access to the massive library of games, but you will be able to play online and you will receive two free games every month. But right now even CD Keys lists the subscription at $80 and it’s out of stock. That means you might as well just pay for your subscription through Sony, but we’ve left this deal here in case things change.
